The giant golden-crowned flying fox (Acerodon jubatus), also known as the golden-capped fruit bat, is a rare megabat and one of the largest bats in the world. The species is endangered and is currently facing the possibility of extinction because of poaching and forest destruction. It is endemic to forests in the Philippines.

I can’t help it…
…For using the very processes of democracy that enable us to live freely in order to undermine the very purpose of having a democracy in the first place. Voting to oppress, to remove the rights of our fellow citizens, sets a dangerous precedent. Maybe, someday, those who voted for Amendment 1 will connect the dots when they experience their own civil rights removed by the votes of an oppressive majority. For example, if somehow enough people voted to test people for signs of bigotry and hate before they are allowed in the voting booth.
